Jennifer Aniston interviewed her boyfriend, wellness coach Jim Curtis, about his new book, "The Book of Possibility," at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. During the conversation, the "Friends" star revealed that she was overcoming a significant fear of public speaking.
"It’s quite a full-circle moment to be back here with you, speaking of dodging balls," Aniston said, referencing childhood memories of playing dodgeball in gym class at the same venue. She admitted to having a "very deep, deep fear of public speaking," to which Curtis responded, "You’d never know it."
The interview, which lasted about 30 minutes, saw Aniston questioning Curtis about his journey and the inspiration behind his self-help guide. Curtis shared a story from his earlier career on Wall Street, where teasing from coworkers calling him "Run, Forrest, Run" was the first time he felt accepted.
Aniston also became emotional when Curtis spoke about a difficult period in his life when he experienced severe pain and struggled to receive a diagnosis, a moment that prompted him to make a significant life change. "What a beautiful story," Aniston said, becoming teary-eyed. "Thank you so much for sharing that."
At the conclusion of the event, Curtis surprised Aniston by asking her questions from the audience about the possibilities she chooses, her advice for handling stress, and her best advice. Aniston responded that she handles stress with "Deep breaths and meditation."
The couple, who have reportedly been linked for over a year, concluded the event with a hug and a kiss. After Aniston left the stage, Curtis encouraged the audience to cheer loudly for her, suggesting a desire for her to participate in future events.
