Jemima Kirke Shares Minimalist Makeup Tips and Reflects on 'Girls'

Jemima Kirke, known for her role in "Girls," has shared her "effortless" makeup routine, emphasizing a minimalist approach using Merit Beauty products. In a "Get Ready With Me" style video, Kirke demonstrated her techniques, offering insights into her preferred application methods and product choices.

Kirke began by applying Merit's Minimalist Complexion Stick, a foundation-concealer hybrid, noting that she avoids applying it under her eyes, stating that "a little bit of circles under the eyes is kind of sexy." She continued by using the Flush Balm Blush in Beverly Hills on her cheeks and the Bronze Balm in Seine.

The actress also revealed a beauty hack stemming from her personal experience with eczema during the filming of "Girls." She explained how she began using red eye makeup as a form of camouflage, a practice she sometimes continues today. For this, she utilized the Signature Lip Liner in Rose under her eyes, describing the effect as "kinda cute."

For her lips, Kirke applied the Signature Lip Blush in Andie, a neutral pink shade, which she described as having a lightweight feel and sheer matte finish, suitable for daily wear. She also groomed her eyebrows with Brow 1980 in Taupe for a defined look.

Kirke shared a specific mascara technique, stating, "When I do my mascara, I like to blink heavily so it gets a little bit on the bottom without me having to touch it," while using Clean Volume Tubing Mascara.

In addition to her beauty tips, Kirke touched upon her early involvement with "Girls." She recalled telling Lena Dunham that she initially thought the show was "stupid" and that "no one's going to like it." While acknowledging she might have been wrong, she humorously added that she is "still on the fence about it."

Her commentary suggests a connection between her character Jessa and her own personality, noting that her real-life experiences influenced her on-screen appearance. Kirke's approach to makeup emphasizes a natural, "effortless" aesthetic that can be achieved quickly.
