Jay-Z to Headline Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show
The Roc Nation founder will perform at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on February 14, 2027.
Jay-Z is set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show, the company announced Monday. The performance is scheduled for February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
"GOAT’s out of the bag," Apple Music posted on social media, tagging the rapper. Jay-Z released a statement saying, "From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."
Previous reports indicated that Jay-Z was chosen over other artists, including Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, with Harry Styles also mentioned as a frontrunner. Jay-Z and his entertainment company, Roc Nation, have been involved in producing and selecting performers for the Super Bowl halftime show since 2019.
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stated, "For several years, we’ve had the privilege of working closely with Jay-Z and Roc Nation, and I’ve seen the extraordinary impact he has had on the Super Bowl Halftime Show. When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him. I couldn’t be more excited for fans around the world to experience the artistry, creativity and cultural impact he will bring to the Super Bowl stage."
The 56-year-old rapper recently concluded his Jay-Z 30 Tour with performances at SoFi Stadium on October 23 and 24, celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album, "Reasonable Doubt."
Jay-Z has won 25 Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. His last studio album, "4:44," was released in 2017. While Jay-Z has not previously performed at a Super Bowl halftime show, his wife, Beyoncé, headlined the event in 2013 and returned in 2016 alongside Coldplay and Bruno Mars.
