Jay-Z Tapped for Super Bowl Halftime Show Amid Speculation

Jay-Z has been officially confirmed as the headliner for this season's Super Bowl halftime show.

ESPN announced the rapper's upcoming performance during halftime of the game between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Jay-Z, who signed a lucrative deal with the NFL in 2019 to oversee the music spectacle and renewed it in 2024, will take the stage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Valentine's Day.

Since taking over the musical direction of the halftime show, Jay-Z has selected artists such as Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Bad Bunny. This year marks his own debut as a performer for the event.

The Daily Mail initially reported on September 18 that Jay-Z was considering himself for the role, a possibility that Roc Nation and the NFL vehemently denied at the time.

"From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey," Jay-Z stated following the news. "Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world's biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."

Previous speculation had suggested that Jay-Z and Roc Nation were considering Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Harry Styles for the coveted performance slot.
