James Blunt's "Celebrity Traitors" Run Ends After Conflict with Romesh Ranganathan

Singer James Blunt's participation in "Celebrity Traitors" concluded on Friday, after a disagreement with fellow contestant Romesh Ranganathan regarding his "Faithful" status led to his banishment from the game.

Blunt, 52, was reportedly close to securing a portion of the prize fund, having successfully identified Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny. However, during the finale, Ranganathan questioned Blunt's loyalty, citing a perceived "dismissive" reaction when Maya was banished earlier in the episode.

Blunt refuted Ranganathan's assessment, calling it "entirely wrong." He subsequently voted to banish Kenny, explaining it was to address a loose end concerning a "murder in plain sight." Blunt then stated that such an action would be "a faithful act."

Following Kenny's elimination, with only three "Faithfuls" remaining, a vote was called. Both Sebastian and Ranganathan voted to end the game at this point. However, Blunt was the sole participant to vote for another banishment. This decision made his own elimination by Sebastian and Ranganathan inevitable.

Viewers on social media platform X commented that Blunt had "shot himself in the foot" with his final vote. Comments included "James I’m so annoyed at you and on your behalf" and "James Blunt just had to be wrong one more time didn’t he. Poetic."

Ranganathan and Sebastian ultimately won the competition, sharing £41,500 for their chosen charities: the Refugee Council for Ranganathan and Choose Love for Sebastian. They were congratulated by host Claudia Winkleman.

Sebastian described his win as "incredible" and possibly "the best day of my life," highlighting his trust in Ranganathan as a key factor in their endgame success. Ranganathan expressed his joy at the moment they both realized they were "Faithful."
