James Acaster Becomes Unexpected Sex Symbol on 'Celebrity Traitors,' Fans Create Edits
The comedian revealed on 'The Late Late Show' that fans have been creating 'thirst trap' edits of him during his time on the reality competition series.
James Acaster, a contestant on "Celebrity Traitors," has become an "accidental sex symbol" due to fan-made edits of his appearances on the show, he revealed Friday.
The comedian, 41, shared on Ireland's "The Late Late Show" that his co-star Sebastian Croft began sending him screenshots of these edits. "So I'm not on social media but Bash, who is also on Traitors, started texting me screengrabs... and he was like 'look at this, teenagers fancy you,'" Acaster said. He quipped, "I'd rather that's how they edited Traitors, that's much better!"
Acaster was recruited for the show by hosts Maya Jama and Richard E. Grant. He admitted that he initially did not want to participate.
During Friday's episode, Acaster and fellow contestants Maya and King Kenny were tasked with committing a murder. The identity of their target, either Jerry Hall or Ross Kemp, was left unresolved at a cliffhanger.
In another segment of the episode, Joe Lycett was banished from the castle after his attempts to be recruited as a traitor backfired, making him a prime suspect. Lycett's "slip-up" at the roundtable discussion ultimately sealed his fate, despite Miranda Hart's refusal to vote for him.
"I do sort of feel like we are all a family now and, as such, expect to be in all of your wills. Very sad to be going, but what a wonderful group of people," Lycett said after his banishment. "I always wanted to start as a Faithful and end as a Traitor. I started as a Faithful, and I did not get my wish. I am a Faithful."
