Jade Thirlwall Calls Blue Planet III Song Collaboration 'Magical'
The former Little Mix singer partnered with composer Hans Zimmer for the official track 'Into The Deep (Seas Cry)'.
Singer Jade Thirlwall described her experience working on the official song for the BBC documentary series Blue Planet III as "one of the best things" she has ever done.
Thirlwall, formerly of the group Little Mix, collaborated with composer Hans Zimmer on the track titled "Into The Deep (Seas Cry)" for the upcoming series, which will be narrated by Sir David Attenborough. The song was debuted by Thirlwall on BBC Radio 1's Breakfast Show.
Describing the experience as "very special," Thirlwall told host Greg James that Blue Planet, a series focusing on marine life, has always been her favorite television show. "When this opportunity came in, I might have shed a little tear," she recalled.
The singer expressed her excitement about contributing to a project she deeply connects with, stating, "I'm a huge David Attenborough fan, I love the planet, I love the oceans. It was so magical getting to write a song all about that."
The track, which blends Thirlwall's vocals with Zimmer's orchestral style, was conceived as a "celebratory" piece. Thirlwall mentioned that footage from Blue Planet III was available for her to view as she worked on the song, which she described as being about "the oceans and how special they are, hope, fighting the good fight to make the world a better place."
Blue Planet III is scheduled to air this autumn, though an official release date has not yet been announced.
