MGM+ is set to launch its new crime drama, "The Westies," on Sunday, July 12. The series, starring J.K. Simmons, Titus Welliver, and Tom Brittney, delves into the violent world of the infamous Irish gang operating in 1980s New York.

The eight-episode season centers on the gang's efforts to profit from the construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center in their Hell's Kitchen territory. Despite being significantly outnumbered by the Italian Mafia's Five Families, the Westies' brutality and cunning allowed them to negotiate a fragile détente. However, internal friction between the younger generation and the established leadership, coupled with an ongoing FBI investigation into the mafia, threatens to destabilize their operation.

The series premiere will feature the first two episodes airing from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. ET on MGM+. An encore of the premiere will be available at 11:00 p.m. ET. New episodes will continue to air on Sunday nights, with the season finale scheduled for August 23.

"The Westies" can be streamed on MGM+ for $7.99 per month or $5.17 per month with a yearly subscription. The service is also available as an add-on for Amazon Prime Video subscribers for $7.99 per month.
