ITV experienced significant disruptions on Wednesday morning when a power outage at its Covent Garden studio led to the last-minute cancellation of "Lorraine" and a delayed start for "This Morning."

Viewers expecting to tune into the usual morning schedule were met with programming changes. "Good Morning Britain" hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls announced that "Lorraine" would not air as scheduled. Their program was extended by 30 minutes to fill the slot typically occupied by "Lorraine Kelly's" show, running from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

"This Morning" also faced a delayed premiere due to the technical difficulties. Lorraine Kelly informed her social media followers that the show was expected to resume around 11 a.m.

Kelly, 66, posted a video on Instagram en route to the studio, explaining the situation. "There's been a little bit of a hoo-ha, there's a power outage at the studio, so my show won't be on today," she said. She assured viewers that "Good Morning Britain" would continue and that "This Morning" would broadcast once the issue was resolved.

"So it's a bit of a shame, I was really looking forward to talking to Sharleen Spiteri from Texas but we shall reschedule and it'll all be fine and I will see you tomorrow," Kelly added, later captioning her post: "These things happen. Can’t be helped. See you tomorrow."

Following "Good Morning Britain's" conclusion at 10 a.m., a compilation of "This Morning's" best segments was aired. Ed Balls noted the absence of the live show, stating, "We'd normally be finding out from This Morning about their show, but unfortunately there's no show."
