A Gold Coast fitness influencer, Millie Marshall, faced significant criticism online after posting videos of herself working out barefoot at Bambu Fitness in Bali.

Marshall shared several clips on Instagram showcasing her use of gym equipment without footwear. One video, in particular, captured her standing on a weight plate to perform elevated goblet squats, which drew a strong reaction from viewers concerned about hygiene and safety. Comments ranged from warnings about foot fungus and HPV to direct admonishments like "Put shoes on you grub."

Some critics expressed a belief that going barefoot in a gym should be unacceptable and suggested an "immediate gym ban" for such practices.

Marshall later addressed the criticism in another video, stating, "Before all you barefoot haters come have a skitz I'm in Bali & it's normal here xxxx Cry somewhere else pls." Working out barefoot is indeed a common and accepted practice at Bambu Fitness, which is located in Uluwatu.

Fans of Marshall quickly defended her, urging others to "stop hating" and allow her to exercise without judgment. Supporters highlighted the potential for improved mind-to-muscle connection when barefoot and criticized the "wild" level of hate in the comments. Some also complimented Marshall's dedication and "I don't give a f*** attitude."
