Ian Puleston-Davies to Reprise Owen Armstrong Role on Coronation Street
The actor returns to the long-running British soap opera after an 11-year absence.
Actor Ian Puleston-Davies is set to return to the set of Coronation Street, reprising his role as builder Owen Armstrong. He will be back on screen nearly 11 years after his character departed Weatherfield in 2015.
Puleston-Davies' character left the soap following the collapse of his business and the end of his relationship with Anna Windass. His return will see him move in with his daughter Izzy and grandson Jake. Owen Armstrong will reportedly hold Anna's son, Gary Windass, responsible for the family's past misfortunes.
"I can't wait to pick up where I left off 10 years ago," Puleston-Davies stated. "It's brilliant to be back and to get stuck into a cracking storyline. Owen's back and he's still angry."
Puleston-Davies is scheduled to begin filming Owen's return next week, with his first appearance back on the cobbles slated for January. Since his departure from Coronation Street, the actor has appeared in various television dramas, including Pennyworth, Tin Star, and After The Flood.
Coronation Street producer Kate Brooks expressed enthusiasm about Puleston-Davies' return. "He wreaks havoc on the street, and his relationship with Gary is severely put to the test," Brooks commented.
