Holly Willoughby found herself in fits of laughter when comedian Alan Carr inadvertently repeated her well-known "Are you okay?" catchphrase on her YouTube show, Together. The moment occurred as Willoughby and Carr were discussing the effects of cocktails they were consuming.
After both Willoughby and Carr admitted the drinks were having an effect, Carr asked, "Are you okay?" Willoughby initially responded, "I'm okay," before Carr realized his slip-up and repeated the question. Willoughby exclaimed, "Not again! That's my line!" as the laughter ensued.
The presenters' shared amusement stemmed from Willoughby's original use of the phrase on ITV's This Morning over three years prior. She had opened the show with the question following the departure of her former co-host, Phillip Schofield. The phrase quickly became a viral sensation, spawning numerous memes.
Willoughby admitted that the incident had made her hyper-aware of the phrase, noting its intrusion into everyday conversation. "I swear to God, really basic everyday stuff, like 'Are you okay?' which you say every day. And I now can't say it. It's got to stop," she explained, adding that she had considered alternative phrasing like "Are you alright? How are you doing?"
The light-hearted exchange is featured in a recent installment of Together, Willoughby's YouTube series. The show has also featured interviews with other celebrities, including Stanley Tucci and Katherine Ryan, and has taken a more emotional turn in episodes such as her interview with bereaved mother Ellen Roome. The series has reportedly performed well, with its first episode garnering more views on its release day than an episode of Richard Osman's "The Rest is Entertainment."
This series marks a step in Willoughby's return to public life following her departure from This Morning in October 2023, amid reports of a stalking ordeal. Her exit from the ITV program followed a period of controversy surrounding Schofield's admission of an affair with a younger colleague.
