Heidi Klum Transforms into Gruesome Severed Hand for 25th Annual Halloween Party

Heidi Klum marked the 25th anniversary of her legendary Halloween party by transforming into a gruesome, giant severed hand. The supermodel was nearly unrecognizable at the New York event on Saturday, with only her eyes and mouth visible beneath extensive prosthetics.

The elaborate costume featured a bloody transformation, with dangling ligaments and tendons at the top of the hand, which was adorned with long red nails, a thumb ring, and her engagement and wedding bands. Klum was assisted by a team in blood-stained hazmat suits.

Klum explained that the inspiration for the costume came to her last year. "I looked at my hand and I thought, ‘Hey, I think I could fit my body in this somehow,’" she said.

The process of getting into the costume took approximately five to six hours on the night of the party, though its creation required significantly more time. Klum had shared behind-the-scenes glimpses on her Instagram earlier in the day, showing the application of bloody prosthetics to her face.

Despite the visual spectacle, Klum noted the practical challenges. "Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it," she stated. "It's quite heavy."

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, was unable to attend the celebration as he was on tour. However, Klum incorporated a personal touch into her costume, including a tattoo of his name on her ring finger, alongside meticulously recreated palm lines and veins. "A little bit of Tom is with me," she remarked.

This latest transformation adds to Klum's long history of show-stopping Halloween costumes. In previous years, she has appeared as Medusa, a peacock, an 8-foot-tall Transformer, a werewolf inspired by Michael Jackson's "Thriller" music video, a clone accompanied by multiple lookalikes, and Kali, the Hindu goddess.

Her 2022 costume, a slithering worm, garnered significant viral attention when she arrived at the party encased within the elaborate prop.
