Hayden Panettiere, an actress recognized for her roles in the television series "Heroes" and "Nashville," has died. She was 36.

Her father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the news in a statement to ABC News, sharing, "It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen."

He concluded the statement by requesting privacy for the family during this time of grief. A cause of death has not yet been revealed.

Panettiere began her acting career as a child. Beyond her most recognized roles as Claire Bennet on "Heroes" and Juliette Barnes on "Nashville," she also appeared in "Remember the Titans," "Raising Helen," "Ice Princess," and "Scream 4."

In the period before her death, Panettiere had spoken publicly about her experiences with postpartum depression, substance abuse, and the pressures of being in the public eye from a young age. Her memoir, "This Is Me: A Reckoning," detailing these struggles, was released in May.

In July, Page Six reported that Panettiere had canceled an appearance at Creep I.E. Con due to an emergency. The convention shared via Instagram at the time, "Hayden Panettiere has an emergency and will not be able to attend this weekend. We are looking forward to her appearing at an upcoming show."
