Glastonbury Festival is set to feature a new generation of headliners, with Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Sam Fender slated to perform. This lineup, with an average age under 30, signals a strategic shift by the festival to appeal to younger demographics, moving away from its traditional reliance on legacy rock acts.

American pop sensation Billie Eilish, 24, is confirmed to play the Pyramid stage next June. Harry Styles and Sam Fender, both 32, will also headline the festival. This marks a significant change from previous years; in 2026, 80-year-old Neil Young headlined the Saturday night slot, but drew a smaller crowd than Charli XCX on another stage. Sir Rod Stewart, 81, also received mixed reviews for his performance in the coveted Sunday afternoon legends slot that same year.

Eilish, who previously headlined Glastonbury in 2022 at age 20, becoming the festival's youngest solo headliner, is expected to draw a large Gen Z following. Her album "Hit Me Hard And Soft" was a major success last year.

This younger lineup also addresses the festival's ongoing challenge in securing female headliners. In 2023, organizers faced criticism for an all-male lineup on the Pyramid stage. While two female artists, Dua Lipa and SZA, headlined the following year, their sets were reportedly marred by sound issues. Eilish's inclusion is seen as a strong move to attract younger festival-goers.

Harry Styles, a former One Direction member, has been a long-desired headliner for Glastonbury, but scheduling conflicts have previously prevented his appearance. A gap in his current world tour schedule has now made his participation possible.

Sam Fender's headlining slot was confirmed last week. The North Shields-based musician previously performed an evening set on the Pyramid stage in 2022 and is now stepping up to headline for the first time. Fender has had a successful year, with his song "Rein Me In," a duet with Olivia Dean, setting a record for the longest-running No. 1 single in UK history.

Tickets for Glastonbury 2027, which has a capacity of 210,000, sold out in just 42 minutes on Sunday, despite no performers having been officially announced at that time.
