Former 'Traitors' Contestants Predict Season 2 Finale

As the second season of The Celebrity Traitors approaches its finale, former contestants are weighing in on the unfolding drama, the strategic plays, and their predictions for the ultimate winner.

Judy Wilson, who was the first player banished in series four, believes Maya Jama has "played a damn good game" and is a strong contender to win. Wilson recounted her own experience, noting how players can get caught in an "echo chamber" and jump on the same bandwagon when making decisions. She emphasized the importance of her and her daughter Roxy's participation to show that individuals from adverse backgrounds can achieve success.

Roxy Wilson, also a series four contestant, had been rooting for comedian Joanne McNally, who was recently eliminated. Roxy described the game as "super intense" and recalled her own elimination, stating she could sense it coming after being on the show for an extended period. She also reflected on a memorable clash with crime writer Harriet Tyce, which led to Tyce's now-iconic line, "The benefit is to set the cat amongst the pigeons, Roxy."

Theo Mayne, who participated in the first UK series in 2022, has only seen clips of the current season but also backs Maya to win. Mayne highlighted the mental toll of the game, explaining that players are constantly in overdrive, trying to discern traitors from faithfuls while surviving daily eliminations. He credited the show's initial success in part to the "guinea pig cast" of the first season.

Jessie Roux, another contestant from series four, is also supporting Maya. Roux, who remained a faithful throughout her time on the show, commented on the stress and paranoia that permeate the game, but also acknowledged the strong bonds formed among contestants. She aimed to use her platform to raise awareness about stammering, a cause close to her heart, and received positive feedback from viewers.

Alex Oleksy from series three expressed admiration for the current traitors, noting how well they are playing, but ultimately hopes the faithfuls will prevail. He specifically mentioned James Acaster as a "reluctant traitor" playing uniquely. Oleksy admitted that he underestimated the mental demands of the game, which led to intense paranoia and heightened emotions. Despite being banished, he cherished his experience and the self-discovery it facilitated.

The final episode of The Celebrity Traitors will air on BBC One. Several venues are hosting public watch parties, including Headrow House in Leeds and Two Thirds Beer Co in Sheffield, anticipating a strong audience turnout similar to previous finales.
