‘Forgotten Island’ Movie: Where to Stream and Watch

DreamWorks’ new animated film, “Forgotten Island,” is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on Friday, September 25.

The movie, directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, tells the story of two best friends in 1990s Philippines who become trapped on a magical island called Nakali, where demons feed on memories. The voice cast includes H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, and Lea Salonga.

“Forgotten Island” will initially be available only in theaters. Tickets and showtimes can be found via Fandango.

Following its theatrical run, the film is expected to stream on Peacock, a common platform for Universal Pictures releases, which owns DreamWorks Animation. While an official streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, similar Universal releases have debuted on the platform approximately four months after their theatrical debut. If “Forgotten Island” follows this pattern, it could begin streaming on Peacock around late January 2027.

Historically, Universal animated films also become available on Netflix for a limited period about four months after their Peacock premiere, which could place “Forgotten Island” on Netflix around late May 2027.

“Forgotten Island” will not be available on Disney+ as it is not a Disney production. The movie is also not currently streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video, though it is expected to be available for digital purchase and rental on Prime Video at a later date.

Viewers interested in watching “Forgotten Island” immediately should plan to see it in a movie theater. Peacock offers two subscription tiers: Premium with ads for $12.99 per month and Premium Plus ad-free for $19.99 per month. Annual plans are also available, offering 12 months for the price of 10. Peacock Premium Plus can also be accessed through Amazon Prime Video with a seven-day free trial.
