‘Forgotten Island’ Digital Release Date and Streaming Information

The animated film 'Forgotten Island,' from DreamWorks, is now available for digital purchase and rental. The movie, written and directed by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, tells the story of two best friends in the Philippines during the 1990s who become trapped on a magical island inhabited by demons that feed on memories. The voice cast includes H.E.R., Liza Soberano, Dave Franco, Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, and Lea Salonga.

Beginning October 27 at 12 a.m. ET, 'Forgotten Island' can be bought or rented digitally on platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. The cost to purchase a digital copy on Amazon Prime Video is $29.99, with a rental option for $24.99, which allows a 48-hour viewing window after starting playback. The film will also be released on DVD, 4K UHD, and Blu-ray on December 1, 2026.

While 'Forgotten Island' is not yet available on subscription streaming services, it is expected to arrive on Peacock, a service owned by Universal Pictures, in the near future. Based on the release pattern of other Universal films, such as 'Disclosure Day,' which began streaming on Peacock approximately four months after its theatrical debut, 'Forgotten Island' could potentially be available on Peacock around late January 2027. However, some Universal movies have reached Peacock in as little as two to three months, suggesting an earlier release in December 2026 is also possible.

Furthermore, 'Forgotten Island' is anticipated to stream on Netflix at a later date due to Universal's agreement with the platform for animated movies from DreamWorks and Illumination. If the projected Peacock release holds, 'Forgotten Island' might appear on Netflix around late May 2027. The film earned $63.2 million worldwide at the box office against an estimated $80 million production budget.
