Florence Pugh Shines in Dior at "East Of Eden" Photocall

Florence Pugh captured attention on Thursday at a London photocall for her new series, "East Of Eden," sporting a distinctive Dior blazer dress. The actress, 30, paired the avant-garde ensemble with a crisp white shirt, pale pink heels, and a black ribbon in her hair, complemented by Bvlgari jewelry.

Pugh was joined by co-stars Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist, along with director Zoe Kazan, for the event. The series, based on John Steinbeck's 1952 novel, is set to premiere on October 1. Pugh takes on the role of Cathy Ames, the novel's complex antihero, who is married to Abbott's character, Adam Trask.

Zoe Kazan, whose grandfather Elia Kazan directed the 1955 film adaptation of the novel, serves as the adapter for the new series. Kazan expressed her conviction in casting Pugh, stating, "I didn’t have a backup. I didn’t have another person that I thought would be just as good. She is the exact right person to play Cathy."

Kazan further elaborated on Pugh's talent, remarking, "Her awareness of the camera is unparalleled. I don’t use this word lightly: I think she’s a genius. I watched her on set for five months. I have no more insight now as to how she works than I did before."

Pugh herself described bringing the character to a new audience as "totally terrifying," and acknowledged wrestling with the role during filming. "It was a character that I wrestled with in a really, really beautiful way throughout the whole shoot," she shared during a Q&A panel.

The "East Of Eden" adaptation follows a period of significant financial success for Pugh, whose business Flo Pug reported a profit of £6 million last year, bringing her total earnings to approximately £9.9 million. Pugh has a slate of upcoming projects, including "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," "Avengers: Doomsday," and "Dune: Part Three."

Additionally, Pugh is rumored to be considered for the role of Miss Moneypenny in a potential Bond spin-off series, "The Moneypenny Diaries," following Amazon's acquisition of 007 rights. The series would reportedly be based on Samantha Weinberg's books.

Pugh recently spoke about prioritizing her well-being, telling Elle Spain that she is learning to "stop and recharge" to avoid burnout. "Taking care of myself. It's that simple. Being able to breathe. For a long time, I've said I needed to slow down, but the truth is I never did," she said. "In the end, I was burning myself out. Now I'm dedicating more time to my family and friends. I need to recharge to keep tackling such demanding roles. So for me, success is having learned to stop."
