Fat Boy Slim, real name Norman Cook, closed the Camp Bestival festival in Dorset on Sunday dressed as a giant bag of fish and chips. The DJ performed for a crowd at the four-day family festival held at Lulworth Castle.
Cook's unique costume and energetic set, which included blowing an airhorn, marked the final day of the event. He curated a lineup for the Castle Stage, featuring acts such as The Beat, Brooke Coombes, Fat Tony, and De La Soul.
Earlier in the festival, Joe Wicks led a "Wake Up & Workout" session for families on Friday. The fitness coach, dressed in workout attire, also participated in CBeebies Bedtime Stories readings. Other family entertainers like Blippi, Mr Tumble, and Dick n Dom were also featured.
The festival received positive reviews from attendees. Mark Beaumont of The Independent described Camp Bestival as an "ultimate family friendly weekender" with numerous activities for children and adults, including craft areas, CBeebies meet-and-greets, and a large inflatable assault course. The Bournemouth Daily Echo called the event "unforgettable," highlighting the organizers' efforts to create a family-friendly experience with shaded areas and water points, though noting that the extreme heat was a significant issue for some.
Clash Music commented on the festival's "silly" and "communal" atmosphere, emphasizing the creation of "near-as-damn-it perfect memories" for families.
Festival curator Rob da Bank expressed his delight with the event, stating, "What a ridiculously fun and sun kissed weekend we've had, bringing families together in proper Camp Bestival style." He noted the participation of 30,000 revelers and expressed anticipation for the following year.
Camp Bestival 2027 is scheduled from Thursday, July 29, to Sunday, August 1. Early Bird Weekend Tickets were set to go on sale on Friday, August 7.
