Fans Gather for Midnight Release of New 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' Novel
Enthusiasts anticipate the latest installment in Sarah J. Maas's popular fantasy series, with events planned across the UK.
Dozens of fans are expected to gather at the Wolverhampton Arts Centre for the midnight release of "A Court of Splintered Harmony," the newest book in Sarah J. Maas's "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series. The event, which begins Friday, October 27, will feature arts and crafts activities before attendees receive their copies at midnight, followed by a dedicated reading period.
Fans have expressed significant excitement on social media, with some noting the long five-year wait since the previous installment, "A Court of Wings and Ruin," was released. One fan on TikTok shared, "Why did I waste my annual leave on important life events, when there's a new acotar coming out." Another simply stated, "I simply don't know if I'm ready for this."
According to a fan attending the event in Wolverhampton, the extended break between books has left the fanbase "going crazy." She added that the series has fostered a strong sense of community, drawing in a diverse range of readers.
"It's created this sense of community that - just from a book - is this massive magical world," she said. "Where I work, there are women who are my age reading them, there's also women in their 40s, 50s that are picking them up. Online I'm seeing loads of men reading them. It's a universal craze to be honest."
The author, Sarah J. Maas, confirmed on her website that "A Court of Forgotten Melody," the seventh book in the series, is scheduled for release on January 12, 2027, following the debut of "A Court of Splintered Harmony."
