Eva Marie Saint, the Oscar and Emmy-winning actress renowned for her roles in classic films such as "On the Waterfront" and "North by Northwest," has died at the age of 102. Her representative confirmed to Fox News Digital that she passed away Tuesday of natural causes at her Los Angeles home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Saint made a significant impact on Hollywood with her film debut opposite Marlon Brando in the 1954 drama "On the Waterfront." Her portrayal of Edie Doyle earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In 1959, Saint further solidified her status as a Hollywood icon, starring alongside Cary Grant in Alfred Hitchcock's thriller "North by Northwest." She played Eve Kendall, a pivotal character in the cult-favorite film.

Throughout her career, which spanned over seven decades, Saint collaborated with numerous acclaimed actors, including Montgomery Clift, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, Richard Burton, Warren Beatty, James Garner, George C. Scott, Burt Lancaster, and Tom Hanks. Her filmography also includes "A Hatful of Rain," "Raintree County," "Exodus," "The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming," "Grand Prix," "Nothing in Common," and "Superman Returns."

Beyond her film work, Saint also had a notable presence in television and theater. She received five Emmy nominations, securing a win in 1990 for her role in the miniseries "People Like Us." Her stage career included an appearance on Broadway in "The Trip to Bountiful," which led to her casting in "On the Waterfront" by director Elia Kazan.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Saint was raised in New York and initially pursued teaching at Bowling Green State University before her passion for acting led her to a different path.

Saint was married to director Jeffrey Hayden for 65 years until his passing in 2016. She is survived by their two children, Darrell and Laurette, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Eva Marie Saint's passing marks the end of a significant era for Hollywood's Golden Era, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances alongside some of the 20th century's most prominent figures in film.
