Erling Haaland has accepted actor Tom Holland's invitation for dinner, weeks after the "Spider-Man" star revealed the footballer had not responded to his social media message. The exchange gained wider attention after Holland recounted the story on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon.

Haaland, 25, directly responded to the viral video in the comments section of a post about the incident. "Dinner invitation accepted @tomholland2013. A little late. Just name the place!" the footballer wrote.

Holland, 30, had initially reached out to the Manchester City striker after seeing him at the Monaco Grand Prix in early June. "I was watching Lewis [Hamilton] race, and I saw him," Holland explained on Fallon's show. "He was [in] like a hospitality suite across from me, and I just thought I’d shoot my shot. Send him a text."

However, Holland did not receive a reply to his direct message. "I tell you what, that is, that is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors," he told Fallon, humorously detailing the lack of response. "You know, you’ll be like, 'I’ll text him, I’ll take him to dinner,' not even a response, not an excuse, not 'I’m busy tonight, I’m playing football,' nada."

During the television appearance, Fallon read a social media post suggesting Haaland was unaware of Holland's identity and thought he was a random person because he "doesn’t watch movies."

Holland, despite the initial snub, expressed admiration for Haaland's abilities, calling him "incredible" and "an absolute legend."

Holland previously expressed uncertainty about whether Haaland would be willing to dine with him, particularly after England's recent 2-1 loss to Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals, joking, "I don’t think he would have dinner with me after the other day."
