A posthumously released memoir by the late actor Eric Dane has revealed details of a heated confrontation he had with co-star Josh Duhamel on the set of the NBC series 'Las Vegas' over two decades ago. The book, titled 'My Book Of Days: A Memoir of Moments,' describes an incident where Dane, dealing with a herniated cervical disc, became enraged after Duhamel repeatedly grabbed his tie during a fight scene, despite prior agreements.

Dane wrote that on the third take of the scene, after Duhamel again pulled on his tie, he lost his temper. "Fine. Okay. Take three, and son of a bitch, he grabs my fing tie again I whip off my suit coat and I say, 'Let’s go, you p*-a** actor.' I ball my hands into fists and I come at him," Dane recounted in the memoir. He expressed regret for the incident, noting that the camera continued rolling and he appeared to be the aggressor. He later apologized to Duhamel, stating, "Josh and I have seen each other since and we’re cool. But I want to say it again. Josh, I was wrong. I should’ve walked away. I’m sorry, dude."

Dane, who died earlier this year at age 53, detailed his battle with addiction, his relationship with ex-wife Rebecca Gayheart, and his diagnosis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in the memoir. He had been a guest star on 'Las Vegas,' playing Leo Broder in its second season. The series aired from 2003 to 2008, with Duhamel starring as Danny McCoy.

Dane, best known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan, or 'McSteamy,' on 'Grey's Anatomy,' was diagnosed with ALS approximately a year before his death. He and Gayheart, who married in 2004, share two daughters, Billie and Georgia. Although they separated in 2017 and Gayheart filed for divorce, they never finalized the proceedings and remained amicable co-parents.
