Georgia Geraldine Dane, the 14-year-old daughter of the late actor Eric Dane, is set to make her acting debut in the Lifetime movie "The Ocean Between Them." She will appear alongside her mother, Rebecca Gayheart, in the survival drama, which is scheduled to premiere on September 26.
In the film, Georgia will play Ashley, the youngest daughter of Joan, a role portrayed by Gayheart. The movie centers on Joan's search for her older daughter, Miranda, who becomes stranded at sea after a storm. "The Ocean Between Them" was filmed in Belize between May and June.
This acting role comes six months after the death of Eric Dane, who passed away at age 53 from respiratory failure due to ALS. June 6 marked Georgia's middle school graduation, an event Gayheart celebrated on Instagram. "Your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display," Gayheart wrote. "Welcome to high school - I have no doubt you're ready. I am so excited for you!"
Gayheart, who last had an acting role in a 2019 cameo, is also set to appear in the musical "Jawbreaker" and the supernatural thriller "Nickels." Eric Dane's memoir, "My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments," is scheduled for release on November 3. He was reportedly working on the manuscript until his passing.
Proceeds from Dane's memoir and a GoFundMe campaign established by family friends are expected to benefit Georgia and Dane's other daughter, 16-year-old Billie Dane, from his previous marriage to Gayheart. The GoFundMe had reached over $492,000 toward its $500,000 goal as of Tuesday, with Gayheart listed as the beneficiary.
Eric Dane, best known for his role as Mark "McSteamy" Sloan on "Grey's Anatomy," was married to Gayheart for 14 years, with their divorce finalized in 2018.
