Emmerdale Star Bradley Johnson Weds for Second Time
Actor celebrates nuptials with castmates following a recent 'bloodbath' at the ITV soap.
Emmerdale actor Bradley Johnson, 29, has celebrated his second wedding ceremony with his wife Sammie Johnstone, attended by several of his co-stars. The celebration comes four months after Johnson was reportedly axed from the ITV soap in May amid significant cast changes.
Photos shared on social media by former co-star Natalie Ann Jamieson, who played Amy Wyatt, showed the newlyweds behind a 'Mr and Mrs Johnson' cake. Other Emmerdale actors in attendance included Joe-Warren Plant (Jacob Sugden), Bradley Riches (Lewis Barton), and Katie Hill (Sarah Sugden).
Olivia Bromley, who portrayed Dawn Taylor, also shared images, including one of the couple's first dance. Bride Sammie wore a white satin mini dress with a tulle bow, while Johnson donned a grey suit for the UK ceremony.
This celebration follows the couple's elopement in Nashville last month. Johnson shared a video of the pair opening their marriage certificate, captioned: 'Eloped to Nashville. Married the love of my life.' For the US ceremony, Sammie wore a white minidress with cowboy boots, and Johnson sported a cream waistcoat, beige trousers, and a tan tie.
Johnson, who has played Vinny Dingle since 2019, is set to exit Emmerdale. His final scenes are scheduled to air soon, with his character facing court sentencing for his involvement in the deaths of Dawn Taylor and Jimmy King. The actor expressed that leaving the show after many years was an emotional experience.
Speaking on This Morning, Johnson acknowledged the tight-knit nature of the Emmerdale cast and crew, calling them an "amazing" group. He also indicated that approaching 30 prompted a desire for a new chapter, stating, "I feel it's a perfect time in my life to start a new chapter, and it's daunting and scary because this industry is hard, but I'm excited to get out there and see what's next."
Details regarding Vinny's specific exit from the Dales have not been confirmed, with Johnson teasing various possibilities for his character's fate. The actor and his fiancée Sammie began their relationship in August 2021 and welcomed their son, Albie Jake Johnson, in November 2024. Johnson proposed to Johnstone in October 2023 during a trip to Rome.
