Emily Atack and Mathew Horne Share a Passionate Kiss in New Debenhams Christmas Advert

Emily Atack and Mathew Horne are central to the new nostalgic Christmas advert for Debenhams, sharing a passionate kiss as they portray characters Tina and Chris. The four-minute video unfolds a festive village party narrative, also featuring Kym Marsh as the landlady and singer Gabrielle in a guest role.

For Tina, portrayed by Atack, the Christmas spirit is initially elusive as she returns to her childhood home. Her mood shifts upon encountering Chris, an old childhood friend played by Horne. A shared glance and smile hint at a budding connection. As the advert progresses, their relationship deepens, culminating in a kiss at the village Christmas party.

The storyline includes a subplot where the headline act, Gabrielle, is hampered by a snowstorm. In her absence, Chris is encouraged by style expert Mark Heyes to perform a song significant to Tina. A flashback reveals the pair as teenagers with a mutual crush, listening to the same song on a park bench.

The festive atmosphere is disrupted when a power cut, caused by excessive Christmas lights, plunges the village into darkness. Gabrielle eventually arrives and performs as the power is restored, at which point Tina and Chris share their kiss.

Influencers Saffron Barker, Sammi Maria, and Jay Beech are also featured, dancing to Gabrielle's hit song 'Dreams.'

Debenhams' campaign message, 'Christmas. For Everyone.,' emphasizes unexpected moments and the importance of people showing up when plans go awry. Atack, who recently married Alistair Garner, expressed her excitement about the campaign, noting the nostalgic feel and the theme of reconnecting with loved ones.

Horne commented on his association with Christmas, referencing past festive TV specials and how families gathered to watch them. He stated his delight in participating in a film that celebrates similar themes of togetherness.
