The documentary "You Can See Everything," detailing the final month of convicted Theranos fraudster Elizabeth Holmes's life before her prison sentence, is generating significant demand for an early UK release. The three-hour film, which features Amanda Seyfried, is slated for a November 20 release in the UK, a month after its October 16 debut in the United States.

Co-directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, "You Can See Everything" has gained momentum since its unveiling at a secret screening at the Telluride film festival in September. A teaser trailer featuring Holmes asking Fielder, "Why would I deceive you?" quickly went viral.

The film achieved a remarkable $15 million opening in the US, marking the biggest domestic debut for a documentary in over two decades. It has since garnered near-perfect ratings on Rotten Tomatoes (98%) and Metacritic (99), positioning it as a potential contender for an Academy Award. Industry experts predict it could be the first documentary to secure a Best Picture nomination in the Oscars' 98-year history.

"You Can See Everything" follows Holmes, the founder and CEO of the blood-testing company Theranos. She was indicted in June 2018 and subsequently charged with nine counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for allegedly defrauding investors about the company's capabilities. In 2022, she was found guilty and sentenced to 11 years and three months in federal prison.

Growing UK Demand

Despite the November 20 release date, tickets for screenings in the UK are already selling out, prompting widespread calls for an earlier release. Social media platforms have been flooded with comments from fans expressing frustration over the delay. "Release You Can See Everything in the UK RIGHT NOW," one user posted, while another lamented, "I can't believe that I have to wait over a month if I want to watch You Can See Everything in the UK."

Cinema executives have noted the unprecedented audience interest. Clare Binns, creative director of Picturehouse Cinemas, compared the fervor to that surrounding Greta Gerwig's "Barbie," stating, "People are hungry in a way that we haven't really seen since then. And for it to be a three-hour documentary, it's bonkers."

Major cinema chains like Cineworld and Vue are reporting strong demand. Cineworld initially sold out screenings at its Leicester Square venue and has since added more showtimes and expanded bookings to additional cinemas nationwide. Vue has also reported significant buzz for the film.

The three-hour documentary follows convicted tech fraudster Elizabeth Holmes during the month before she began an 11-year prison sentence in 2023.

Fans are demanding an early UK release of the You Can See Everything documentary as it gets a historic Oscars push.

The documentary's US debut saw it gross $15 million (£11.3 million), making it the biggest US opening for a documentary in more than 20 years.
