Elizabeth Gillies Transforms into Halloweentown Character for Halloween
The 'Victorious' star used prosthetics to embody Luke from the beloved Disney movie.
Nickelodeon alum Elizabeth Gillies completely transformed into Luke from the Disney movie "Halloweentown" for a recent Halloween celebration. Gillies shared her elaborate costume on Instagram, showcasing the extensive use of prosthetics designed to mimic the character's distinct features, including a bulbous nose and boils.
The 33-year-old actress completed the look with a red velvet cape, prosthetic elf-like ears, and a multicolored checkered shirt. She captioned her post with a quote from the character, "I'm something of a big cheese around here."
In "Halloweentown," Luke, originally portrayed by Philip Van Dyke, is a goblin who uses a disguise to appear human while acting as a spy for the villain Kalabar. Despite his initial role, he eventually aids the protagonist, Marnie, in saving Halloweentown.
The Disney Channel Original Movie premiered in 1998 and has since spawned three sequels, with a fifth film reportedly in development. Gillies's costume drew widespread admiration from fans on social media, with many commenting on how unrecognizable she looked.
This is not the first time Gillies has garnered attention for her Halloween costumes. In 2023, she and close friend Ariana Grande paid tribute to the 1995 film "Showgirls," with Grande portraying Nomi and Gillies as Cristal. The duo even recreated iconic scenes from the movie. The year prior, in 2022, they channeled characters from the mockumentary "Best in Show," with each actress embodying multiple roles from the film.
