Two concerts, dubbed "Dollyfest," are scheduled for 2027 to celebrate the life and legacy of country music legend Dolly Parton, her estate announced Monday. The events are planned to take place across two consecutive weekends in Nashville and London.
Danny Nozell, Parton's longtime manager, stated that Dollyfest was a dream of hers that was originally intended for her 80th birthday. "What Dolly started, we will ensure is brought to life," Nozell said in a statement.
The estate indicated that exact dates and performer information for the 2027 celebrations will be announced later. The upcoming concerts were announced shortly after Parton's private memorial service in Nashville on August 28.
Parton died on August 25 at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer. She had taken a step back from public appearances over the past year while dealing with unspecified health issues. Her last major public appearance was in June at the grand opening of a travel stop bearing her name.
Parton, born into a large family in Tennessee, rose to become one of the world's most successful entertainers, releasing 50 albums and earning 11 Grammy Awards during her career. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dean, with whom she was married for nearly 60 years. Parton had requested a private funeral.
