Fans gathered outside Dolly Parton's Tennessee home to pay tribute following the news of her death at age 80 after a battle with cancer. The entrance to her Brentwood estate was adorned with a makeshift memorial featuring balloons, flowers, and handwritten messages.
Among the tributes were colorful bouquets and signs with messages such as "We love Dolly," "We will always love you," and "Y’all means u all." The latter message featured the word "all" colored to resemble the pride flag, a nod to Parton's status as an LGBTQ icon. A classic black-and-white photograph of the singer was also displayed on an easel, decorated with green hydrangeas.
Butterfly-shaped balloons, referencing her 1974 hit "Love Is Like a Butterfly," were also part of the display.
Parton had spoken about dealing with unspecified "health issues" in the past year, which led to the cancellation of several appearances. Her declining health reportedly coincided with the March 2025 death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean.
Billboards in Nashville also paid tribute, displaying messages like "Forever Shine Dolly."
