Danny Hatchard Engaged to Longtime Partner After Amsterdam Proposal
EastEnders actor Danny Hatchard announced his engagement to Kerry Scouler, his partner of six years, following a romantic proposal in Amsterdam.
EastEnders star Danny Hatchard has announced his engagement to his longtime partner, Kerry Scouler. The couple, who have been together for six years, are set to marry after Hatchard proposed during a boat trip in Amsterdam.
Scouler shared the news on Instagram, posting a series of photos of the couple celebrating with champagne, with Scouler showcasing her new diamond ring. She captioned the post, "You & me forever? Don't mind if 'I do.'"
The pair first connected in 2020 when Scouler messaged Hatchard, expressing admiration for his EastEnders character, Lee Carter. Their relationship was made public in December of that year during a trip to Cyprus.
Hatchard joined the BBC soap opera 12 years ago as the eldest son of Mick and Linda Carter. He previously served as a corporal in the British Army before returning to Walford. His appearances on the show have been intermittent since 2019, with his last known role in 2024.
He recently confirmed his upcoming return to EastEnders, teasing an "explosive" comeback. Hatchard stated that this will be his fourth return to the show and that he has a significant storyline to explore. He also mentioned that he is unsure how his return will coincide with the upcoming exit of his on-screen mother, Linda Carter.
Maddy Hill, who plays Nancy, is also set to return for a short stint. Executive Producer Ben Wadey expressed excitement about the return of both Hatchard and Hill, noting the reunion of two beloved members of the Carter family.
