Dakota Johnson Steps Out in Bold Valentino Dress After "Verity" Premiere

Dakota Johnson made a vibrant fashion statement on Thursday evening, attending a Valentino Beauty event in London's Soho shortly after the premiere of her new film, "Verity."

Johnson, 36, captivated onlookers in a sequined maxi dress featuring fringe detailing, from Valentino's 2027 collection. The bold orange and purple ensemble was paired with nude open-toe heels and silver jewelry. She appeared in good spirits as she arrived at the Vinyl Factory venue.

Earlier the same evening, Johnson walked the red carpet for the premiere of "Verity" at Curzon Mayfair, where she co-stars with Josh Hartnett. For the premiere, she opted for a sheer white lace dress that revealed her undergarments.

Hartnett, who plays Verity Crawford's husband Jeremy in the film, was dressed in a black Jacquemus suit. Their co-star, Anne Hathaway, who is heavily pregnant with her third child, was absent from the premiere events. Hathaway, 43, was recently seen in New York displaying her baby bump.

"Verity" is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel, with Johnson portraying Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer tasked with completing the remaining books in a successful series after the titular author, Verity Crawford, is incapacitated by a mysterious accident. Hathaway plays Verity Crawford. The film was adapted for the screen by Nick Antosca and directed by Michael Showalter.

The plot centers on Ashleigh, who receives a dream offer to ghostwrite for the celebrated thriller writer Verity. While working at the couple's estate, Ashleigh discovers an unfinished manuscript that hints at dark secrets from Verity and Jeremy's past. This discovery forces Ashleigh to continue her work while questioning whether the writings are fiction or a genuine warning.

"Verity" is scheduled for release in cinemas on October 2.

Hathaway has had a prolific year in film, with "Verity" being one of several releases. She is also slated to appear in "Days of Thunder 2" alongside Tom Cruise, expected in summer 2028. Her other film credits this year include "Mother Mary," "The Devil Wears Prada 2," "The Odyssey," and "The End Of Oak Street."

In June, Hathaway announced her third pregnancy during the press tour for "The Devil Wears Prada 2." She shared the news via an Instagram reel. Discussing her pregnancy in her 40s, Hathaway noted a realistic and low expectation, expressing gratitude for the experience and acknowledging the fortune of being able to have children when desired.
