Dakota Johnson, Demi Moore and Salma Hayek were among the celebrities who attended the Kering Caring for Women Dinner during New York Fashion Week on Thursday night.

Johnson arrived in a black, sheer lace gown that revealed undergarments beneath the fabric; she wore a black satin bra and thong under the dress and completed the look with strappy heels and an updo. The actress posed for photographers and turned for cameras on the red carpet.

Also on the red carpet, Demi Moore wore a shimmering black dress with a thigh‑high slit and styled her hair in loose waves. Salma Hayek attended with her husband, Francois‑Henri Pinault, who is chief executive of the Kering group and chairman of the Kering Foundation; Hayek wore a strapless black gown with a low neckline and carried a small black clutch.

The dinner was co‑hosted by Hayek and Pinault. The event brought together a number of high‑profile figures from film and fashion, with attendees reported to include Julianne Moore, Madonna, Jessica Chastain and Colman Domingo, among others.

Johnson, who has appeared in recent films and is the daughter of actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, has been a frequent presence at fashion events. She and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin announced their split earlier this year.

Kering established the Caring for Women Dinner as part of its philanthropic efforts linked to the Kering Foundation, which supports initiatives addressing violence against women and gender equality; the annual gathering coincides with New York Fashion Week and typically draws industry executives, designers and performers.

Photographs from Thursday night captured several attendees posing together on the red carpet and highlighted an evening that combined fundraising and visibility for the foundation's work with the social and publicity functions customary to NYFW events. Organizers did not immediately issue a statement about the total raised at the dinner or specific programs to be funded following the event.

The Kering Caring for Women Dinner has in past years been used to spotlight the foundation's campaigns and to convene brand partners and supporters. This year’s guest list reflected the intersection of entertainment and luxury fashion that Kering brands often cultivate during New York Fashion Week.
