Daisy May Cooper Embraces Slimmed-Down Look and Comedy on 'Last One Laughing'

Daisy May Cooper has been drawing attention for her significant 10-stone weight loss while participating in the "Last One Laughing" Halloween special on Prime Video. Cooper, 40, has transitioned from a dress size 24 to a size 10, attributing her transformation to the ultra low-carb Keto diet.

During the comedy series, where contestants aim to make each other laugh for six hours, Cooper has been showcasing her toned figure in outfits including a vampy mini-dress and thigh-high boots. Her comedic performance, particularly her "Joker" set, which featured a deadpan reading of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Raven" with her brother Charlie Cooper making a cameo, has been met with positive reactions from viewers.

Despite the public's positive reception to her appearance on the show, Cooper revealed in a recent interview that she has faced trolling and shaming following her weight loss. She described receiving cruel comments online, which led her to stop using her phone and have her personal assistant manage her Instagram account. The most hurtful comments, she explained, suggested she was no longer funny due to her changed appearance. This led her to worry about the impact on her casting opportunities, noting the continued pressure on women regarding their appearance and humor.

Cooper shared that at her heaviest, she was a size 24, experiencing physical discomfort such as chest pains and breathlessness from simple activities like climbing stairs. While the Keto diet initially aided her weight loss, she later expressed reservations about recommending it, citing health issues like kidney stones developed from her restrictive eating habits, which she described as being "like Henry VIII."

Her dramatic weight transformation and cosmetic procedures, including lip fillers, also presented continuity challenges for the filming of the second season of her show "Am I Being Unreasonable?". Cooper noted the surreal situation of starting a new series just 30 seconds after the previous one ended, with significant changes to her appearance in between.

Cooper also addressed the perception that her humor is tied to her weight, stating, "Why do women have to be f**king fat to be funny? That makes me so angry." She emphasized her belief in body positivity but stressed that her weight loss was also a personal health journey driven by unhappiness and physical limitations when she was at her largest.
