Courtney Green has reportedly chosen to leave The Only Way Is Essex after a 10-year tenure, as the reality program faces potential cast changes. Sources suggest the 31-year-old reality personality is stepping back from the series following a tumultuous recent season that included a trip to Albania and involvement in a dispute between castmates Elma Pazar and Harry Derbidge.

Green has been a consistent presence on TOWIE for a decade, with her past relationships, including a notable one with Myles Barnett, being a focus for viewers. She later dated businessman Callum Bushby, with whom she announced a split in April 2025 after seven years together.

This departure coincides with reports of a major overhaul planned for TOWIE, with speculation that producers are considering removing several cast members, including some newer additions to the show. A source indicated to The Sun that Green's decision to take a break was motivated by upcoming family events and her business interests, emphasizing that her absence is temporary.

"After the last series she just decided that a break and a reset would be beneficial for her in all sorts of ways," the source said. "But she'll be back – this isn't goodbye – she's just opting for some time out."

Further reports suggest that with ITV potentially being acquired by Sky, producer Rebecca Kenny-Smith is aiming to return TOWIE to its earlier format, which could involve cutting a number of cast members. Another source commented on the current atmosphere among the cast: "The cast are being continuously told they need to bring it in terms of drama, and with all the whispers of another brutal cull, they're falling over themselves to find storylines. It's very much survival of the fittest right now."

The source added that the show is expected to focus more on established characters with existing storylines, mentioning names such as Ella Rae Wise, Dani Imbert, Sophie Kasaei, Jordan Brook, Junaid Ahmed, Joe Blackman, Amy Childs, and Lauren Goodger.

TOWIE has already been renewed for a third series this year, but this upcoming season is anticipated to be closely monitored to inform future decisions about the show's direction. Meanwhile, cast members are currently featured in a wedding special for Amy Childs, who is set to marry Billy Delbosq in Spain, following their legal ceremony in April. "Amy is a favourite at ITV. She has been on Towie for years and has had several spin-off shows following her family life. It feels like a perfect fit," a source told the Daily Mail.
