Christina Aguilera Revisits 'Lady Marmalade' for Charlotte Tilbury's Christmas Campaign
The pop icon channels the theatrical glamour of her 2001 hit for the makeup artist's holiday campaign, marking the song's 25th anniversary.
Christina Aguilera is celebrating the 25th anniversary of her iconic 2001 hit "Lady Marmalade" by featuring in Charlotte Tilbury's latest Christmas campaign. The campaign draws inspiration from the song's famous music video and its theatrical, showgirl glamour, reimagining it within Tilbury's "Hollywood Holiday Wonderland."
Aguilera, who famously sang "Lady Marmalade" alongside Mya, Pink, and Lil' Kim for the film Moulin Rouge!, expressed her excitement about revisiting the song's legacy. "Revisiting Lady Marmalade 25 years later made this collaboration even more special. There's so much nostalgia in the campaign," Aguilera stated. She described the experience as a "welcome trip down memory lane" and a "playful, glamorous" reimagining.
Charlotte Tilbury CBE, President, Chairwoman, and Chief Creative Officer of her eponymous brand, collaborated with Aguilera for the festive advertisements. The campaign aims to inspire confidence and encourage individuals to "step into the spotlight and become the star of their own show," a message that resonated with Aguilera.
"Charlotte is an icon, and I love that everything she does is about giving people confidence – encouraging them to own who they are, step into the spotlight and feel good about themselves," Aguilera said. She noted that the campaign's vision, which incorporates elements of Old Hollywood glamour and burlesque, felt natural given her artistic background in performance and transformation.
For the campaign, Aguilera donned a low-cut cream sequinned minidress while posing with several of Charlotte Tilbury's signature beauty products. The festive advertisements also feature supermodel Jasmine Tookes and Bella Tilbury.
Tilbury emphasized the brand's philosophy that "beauty is about so much more than how you look – it is about how you feel." She added, "The right makeup can transform your energy, unlock your confidence and make you feel like the star of your own show! Christina embodies that belief completely: she is fearless, magnetic and unapologetically herself."
Charlotte Tilbury's festive campaigns have become a notable annual event, with past collaborations including Celine Dion. Aguilera's involvement highlights the enduring appeal of "Lady Marmalade" and her continued presence in the entertainment and fashion worlds.
