The singer's recent promotional video for Deliveroo sparked amusement and confusion online after she appeared to mistake a leek for a spring onion.
Singer Cheryl has found herself the subject of widespread online commentary after an apparent mix-up involving a leek and a spring onion in her latest advertising campaign for Deliveroo.
In a video shared on Instagram, the 43-year-old Girls Aloud star showcased the contents of her Deliveroo grocery order, which reportedly earned her £500,000. While listing the items, Cheryl referred to a leek as a spring onion, stating, "Who doesn't need a carrot and spring onion?"
Viewers quickly took to the comments section to point out the botanical error. "That's not a spring onion hun, it's a leek," one user wrote, while another added, "Confusing a leek for a spring onion oh you silly sausage."
Deliveroo humorously responded to the public's observations, posting, "guys if chezza says it's a spring onion, it's a spring onion."
