Charli XCX to Sell Tour Wardrobe for Charity on Vinted
The singer is auctioning tour looks and personal archive pieces, with proceeds benefiting Rainbow Railroad.
Charli XCX is opening her personal wardrobe to fans, listing tour outfits and archive pieces for sale on the online marketplace Vinted. The initiative aims to raise funds for the charity Rainbow Railroad, which supports LGBTQI+ individuals facing persecution.
The collection, set to launch on November 16, will feature items worn during her Music, Fashion, Film tour, alongside second-hand finds curated by the singer and her stylist, Chris Horan, as well as pieces from Charli's personal collection. These include a leather jacket from R&M Leathers and vintage t-shirts.
Charli and Horan have embraced pre-loved fashion throughout the tour, actively sourcing unique pieces from Vinted. They have used search terms such as "distressed," "gothic," and "flounce" to discover items. The singer has previously highlighted her affinity for vintage and second-hand clothing, noting that it adds a personal touch to her style and leads to unexpected looks. This approach was evident when an early 2000s Christian Audigier piece was reworked into a dress for her "Austin City Limits" performance, and a sheer grey blouse worn in San Diego was sourced from a Vinted seller in New York.
Another notable item is a black Roberto Cavalli dress worn to the Academy Gala after-party and the final show of her tour in Las Vegas. This dress was acquired from a Vinted user who recognized Charli wearing it in after-party photos on the same evening. A floor-length Donna Karan dress with a bird motif, originally a gift to its seller, is also part of the collection and has yet to be worn on stage.
"Some were found on Vinted in the first place, worn on stage, and are now going back out into the world. Which feels like a full circle," Charli stated regarding the initiative.
Accompanying the sale, a behind-the-scenes video featuring Charli and Horan exploring their Vinted finds and revisiting iconic fashion moments will premiere on Charli's social media channels on November 8.
The Vinted sale will be available to customers in the UK, US, and Australia.
