British artists made a notable presence on the red carpet and stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Charli XCX, Raye, and Emma Bunton were among the British stars who graced the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Charli XCX, 34, sported a daring black mesh crop top paired with a long velvet skirt from Saint Laurent, showcasing her midriff. During her red carpet appearance, she experienced a wardrobe malfunction, with an unintentional nip slip occurring while posing for photographers.
Raye, 28, opted for a sparkling silver Georges Hobeika couture gown adorned with thousands of beads. She later performed a medley of songs on stage in a red lace dress. For a tribute to George Michael, Raye changed into a plunging black gown to perform alongside Teddy Swims, Sombr, and Adam Lambert.
Emma Bunton, 50, made a rare solo appearance at the event. The singer and radio presenter wore a black velvet playsuit with platform heels. Bunton was at the ceremony to present Madonna with an award.
London-born Sienna Spiro received the Best New Artist award for her hit song "Die On This Hill." She also made her VMA performance debut in a custom silver minidress inspired by Paco Rabanne's 1967 creation. Earlier on the red carpet, Spiro wore a champagne beaded gown by Valentino, complemented by Jimmy Choo shoes and Chopard jewelry.
PinkPantheress, 25, secured her first MTV VMA for Best Art Direction for her track "Stateside," sharing the award with Zara Larsson and director Charlotte Rutherford. She attended the event in a burgundy polka dot Nina Ricci ruffled dress.
Taylor Swift was a significant winner, taking home the first-ever Artist Director Honors, Video of the Year for "The Fate of Ophelia," and Best Direction for "Opalite." She dedicated her Video of the Year award to Dolly Parton, calling her the "ultimate showgirl." Swift also spoke about her passion for directing music videos, thanking the fans for making the process rewarding. Kacey Musgraves performed a tribute to Dolly Parton, introduced by Parton herself.
The ceremony also honored grunge band Nirvana with the Video Vanguard Award, with Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl accepting and remembering bandmate Kurt Cobain. Madonna was a leading winner of the night, securing Artist of the Year and multiple other awards, including Best Collaboration and Best Dance.
