Charli XCX Auctions Personal Wardrobe for Charity

Charli XCX is opening her personal wardrobe to fans, selling tour looks and archive pieces on the resale platform Vinted to raise money for the charity Rainbow Railroad. The initiative aims to support LGBTQI+ individuals facing persecution.

The collection will feature items worn on tour, second-hand finds curated by Charli and her stylist Chris Horan, and pieces from Charli's personal archive, including a R&M Leathers jacket and vintage t-shirts. The sales will begin on Monday, November 16, with curated selections available across the UK, US, and Australia.

Charli and Horan have embraced pre-loved fashion throughout her Music, Fashion, Film tour, sourcing eclectic pieces from Vinted. Their search terms included "distressed," "gothic," and "flounce." Notable items from the tour include an early 2000s Christian Audigier piece repurposed as a dress for Austin City Limits, a sheer grey blouse worn in San Diego, and a black Roberto Cavalli dress worn to the Academy Gala after-party and the final show in Las Vegas.

Charli expressed her affinity for vintage and second-hand clothing, stating, "Vintage and second-hand are a huge part of my style. Chris and I love mixing older, iconic pieces with newer things. I think it makes a look feel more personal to me and always takes us to a more unexpected place."

The collaboration with Vinted also involves a behind-the-scenes look at Charli and Chris as they find and style pieces. This content will premiere on Charli's social media channels on November 8, preceding the wardrobe sale.

One of the items, a floor-length Donna Karan dress with an appliqué bird motif, was originally a gift to its seller from her future mother-in-law. "Some were found on Vinted in the first place, worn on stage, and are now going back out into the world. Which feels like a full circle," Charli noted.

The platform Vinted facilitates the sale, allowing fans to potentially spot new finds by adding #charlixcx to their listings.
