Celine Dion's Diamond Necklace a Tribute to Late Husband

Celine Dion offered a glimpse into her Paris residency's opening night, sharing a video compilation of highlights that included a behind-the-scenes look at her performance. During the concert series, which began September 12, Dion wore a striking Boucheron diamond pendant necklace.

In the video posted to Instagram, Dion shared the emotional connection to the jewelry. "This is a Boucheron necklace. And it’s kind of incredible because my husband always wore Boucheron perfume. It’s something that makes me feel like René is still here," she said, referring to her late husband, René Angélil. She added that the necklace had never been worn before, describing it as "unique. Just like René."

The necklace, named "The Address," is inspired by an archival Boucheron piece and designed to resemble the octagonal Place Vendôme in Paris. It features a collar shape with round and emerald-cut diamonds, culminating in a large octagonal pendant. A line of black lacquer provides contrast to the diamonds. The central pendant is composed of concentric octagons of emerald and round-cut diamonds, with a 10.01-carat emerald-cut diamond at its core. The creation of the necklace reportedly took 1,107 hours.

Dion first met Angélil when she was 12 years old, and they began dating when she was 19. Angélil passed away in January 2016 at the age of 73, following a battle with throat cancer. Dion herself was diagnosed with stiff person syndrome in 2022, after experiencing health challenges for five years. Her Paris residency has been noted as a significant return to the stage, marked by high-fashion ensembles and notable jewelry.
