Celine Dion's Comeback Tour Sparks Concern After On-Stage Incidents

Celine Dion has recently sparked concerns regarding the future of her comeback tour after experiencing balance issues and momentarily forgetting her lyrics on stage during her latest shows in Paris. The 58-year-old singer, who has been battling Stiff Person Syndrome, made a return to the spotlight last month with a series of performances in the French capital.

During her eleventh concert at the Paris La Défense Arena on Wednesday, Dion became emotional while performing "Pour que tu m'aimes encore." She initially told the audience, "I understood all the words, I understood perfectly, thank you." However, she soon paused, stating, "I'm forgetting my words," and covered her face. The crowd then assisted her in completing the song. "Thank goodness you're here, I'm sorry," she later added.

According to reports, Dion also lost her balance while singing "Un autre monde." She reportedly recovered quickly, returning to her feet and giving a thumbs-up to the audience.

The artist is currently in Paris for a five-week residency. She recently shared that she has decided to make her health battle "my reason for living." Dion revealed her diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022. The condition causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms, and at its worst, it impacted her ability to walk and sing.

In 2024, she had promised, "I’ll sing again." Following her first comeback show, "On ne change pas," she expressed gratitude for the audience's support, acknowledging the difficult journey. "I had promised myself not to cry. Here we are… I'm standing on stage in this city that I love so much, thanks to your support and your love," she said. She described the path as rocky with unplanned stops but stated she persevered. "I made a promise to be back on stage. So here I am, singing for you and singing for me, singing live!" she declared.

Dion has undergone an intense rehabilitation program, including new medication, physical therapy, vocal therapy, and immunotherapy. To maintain her physical ability to perform, she has been engaging in 90-minute Pilates sessions three times a week, along with twice-weekly ballet and barre classes. Her home gym is equipped with weights, a treadmill, and a reformer machine, and she has noted an increase in her flexibility.

She previously described her rehabilitation as a process of repeatedly falling and getting back up, expressing pride in achieving something her body was not "born to do." Dion's struggles with the condition were detailed in her 2024 documentary, "I Am: Celine Dion." The current residency is scheduled to include 16 shows in autumn 2026 and an additional ten dates in May 2027.
