Celebrity Traitors Winners Express Relief as Secret is Revealed

The winners of The Celebrity Traitors, actor Sebastian Croft and comedian Romesh Ranganathan, have expressed their relief at finally being able to discuss their victory after the second series concluded on Friday. The duo, playing as faithfuls, split the £83,000 prize fund to be donated to their chosen charities.

"I am feeling good, it's so nice to finally be able to talk about it properly," Croft told BBC Newsbeat. "It's been killing me!"

Croft, 24, and Ranganathan, 48, reunited on Ranganathan's BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday morning. They shared anxieties about being seen together in public before the finale aired, with Croft recounting a dinner where the entire restaurant seemed aware of their participation in the show. "We were having dinner and we're not exactly a likely duo and the whole restaurant was like, 'we like you on Traitors and hope you win'," he said.

Ranganathan, marking his win with his characteristic deadpan humor, admitted that he might not have succeeded without Croft’s strategic advice. "It's taken the gloss off it slightly that everybody's saying, 'you better thank [Croft] every day for the rest of your life'," he quipped. Croft, however, praised Ranganathan's gameplay, calling it "lovely" and highlighting his intelligence and keen judgment of character.

Traitor's Perspective

Fellow finalist Kenny, who navigated the game as both a faithful and a traitor, reflected on his experience. "I experienced everything possible in the game," he stated, noting his journey from faithful to being recruited as a traitor, receiving a shield, and facing elimination. He acknowledged a lack of preparation for the final stages, admitting, "I should have had a better plan for the final." Kenny also described the emotional toll of being a traitor, saying, "There were so many times when I felt bad pinning stuff on people... lying to people for that long is insane, you build friendships as well and feel bad."

Final Challenges

During the broadcast, Ranganathan also spoke with Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock about undertaking the show’s physical challenges while pregnant. Pinnock recalled being suspended from a helicopter and rappelling down with a rope, reflecting, "I'm just super proud of myself. It's kind of just shown me that I really can do anything I put my mind to."

The second series finale drew a significant audience, with 11.2 million viewers watching live.
