Catherine Zeta-Jones's New Thriller Features a Surprise Scottish Cameo

Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones's latest role includes a distinctive Scottish product: Tunnock's Tea Cakes. The popular confectionary makes an appearance in the new TV thriller 'Kill Jackie,' currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

In the series, Zeta-Jones's character receives a secure briefcase from a mysterious concierge service. The delivery, made by a biker in Bilbao, Spain, contains not only a high-tech computer hard drive concealed within a wooden egg but also a six-pack of the Lanarkshire-made treats. When questioned about the contents, Zeta-Jones's character acknowledges the Tunnock's Tea Cakes as part of the delivery.

"Our Tea Cakes have appeared in quite a few big productions, but that's certainly one of the biggest names they've starred alongside," said Fergus Loudon, sales director at Tunnock's. The company noted previous appearances in events such as the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games and the television show Doctor Who.

Last July, a large Tunnock's Tea Cake replica was featured as a pyrotechnic element during the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The inclusion in 'Kill Jackie' marks another high-profile placement for the iconic Scottish treat.
