Casey Donovan and Fiancée Renee Sharples Announce Pregnancy After IVF Journey

Australian singer Casey Donovan and her fiancée Renee Sharples are expecting their first child together. Donovan announced the news on Instagram, revealing their baby is due in February 2027 following a successful IVF journey.

Donovan, 38, shared a photo of herself and Sharples holding an ultrasound image and a baby onesie. "After extensive research, clinical assessment and absolutely no musical rehearsal… Baby arriving February 2027," she captioned the post.

The 'Australian Idol' winner shared her disbelief at falling pregnant, having been diagnosed with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome, formerly known as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), at age 14. She had been told that conceiving, carrying, and giving birth could be difficult.

"I'm feeling so many emotions right now," Donovan said. "I've been told since I was a young girl that falling pregnant was going to be a massive issue or if it would ever happen at all, so I went into this going, 'It's not going to work, nothing's going to.' I was told it may be difficult to conceive a child, hold a child and, yeah, give birth. I still don't believe it."

Donovan also shared that she experiences moments of stress and panic during scans because she has never been through this before.

The couple shared their IVF journey with fans in April when Donovan completed her first embryo transfer. She posted a montage of clips from her visit to No.1 Fertility in Melbourne, thanking the clinic and Dr. Lynn Burmeister for their support.

An embryo transfer is a key step in IVF where an embryo is placed into the uterus, with successful implantation typically confirmed via blood test about two weeks later.

Donovan had revealed late last year that she and Sharples were planning to start a family. She mentioned that Sharples, who is over 40, had undergone egg retrievals, and Donovan felt it was time for her to pursue the process as well.

"This has always been an option, and now I'm just starting to action everything because I'm not getting any younger, as the doctors keep telling me," Donovan stated.

Donovan announced her engagement to Sharples on June 21, 2024, sharing the proposal moment on social media. "21.06.24 on the strawberry moon of the winter solstice the love of my life asked me if I wanted to do this life together forever," Donovan wrote at the time.
