Country music star Brad Paisley lauded Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's July 3 wedding, describing it as "one of the least pretentious weddings" he has ever attended, despite the presence of approximately 1,000 guests. The event, which took place at Madison Square Garden, was designed with a focus on privacy and a down-to-earth atmosphere.
Paisley shared with The Associated Press that he considered the invitation a personal gesture, noting the message that recipients were significant to the couple. He recounted the playful secrecy surrounding the date and location, which ultimately led him and his wife to accept the invitation. "It was really fun to watch the cat-and-mouse game of like, ‘We can tell you roughly where it’s gonna be. We’re not gonna say what building... And here’s the date, and if you’re in, we’ll tell you more,’" Paisley said.
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Camille Kostek echoed Paisley's sentiments, highlighting a phone-free reception where guests, including celebrities and athletes, danced for hours. Kostek told Fox News Digital that the reception felt timeless, with people shedding shoes and enjoying themselves. She recalled sharing the dance floor with artist Chris Stapleton and seeing actress Julia Roberts, describing it as a memorable evening.
Swift and Kelce reportedly married in front of 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden, according to a representative for Swift. The couple opted against a traditional wedding party, instead designating Swift's brother as her "Man of Honor" and Kelce's brother as his "Best Man."
The couple implemented several measures to ensure privacy. Guests were reportedly asked to place their phones in locked glass boxes upon arrival, with individual keys provided for retrieval later. To further shield the event from public view, the windows of Madison Square Garden were covered with drapes. Guests arrived in vehicles and were escorted into an enclosed tent before being led into the venue.
Swift's representative also revealed that the wedding attire for the couple was designed by Jonathan Anderson of Christian Dior Haute Couture. Both Swift and Kelce wore white, with Swift accessorizing her outfit with pieces from Cartier.
