Bonnie Wright Welcomes Second Son, Aster Sky
The 'Harry Potter' actress and husband Andrew Lococo named their newborn after a star-shaped flower.
Bonnie Wright, known for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, has announced the birth of her second child with husband Andrew Lococo. The couple welcomed their son, Aster Sky Wright Lococo, at their home in California.
Wright, 35, shared the news on Instagram, revealing that their newborn arrived on September 28. She explained that their son was named Aster after the star-shaped flower. The couple's elder son, Elio Ocean Wright Lococo, has welcomed his new sibling.
"Our little star has been showered in love by his big brother Elio," Wright wrote on Instagram. "Thank you universe for my loving bundle of boys!"
The photos shared by Wright showed the newborn sleeping and resting against her chest, with their older son leaning into the baby's pushchair. Wright also expressed gratitude to her birth helpers for guiding them through the process.
The name Aster continues the couple's trend of choosing names inspired by the natural world, following their first son, Elio Ocean.
Among those extending congratulations were former Harry Potter co-stars Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, and Scarlett Hefner, who portrayed Pansy Parkinson. Wright had announced her second pregnancy in April.
Wright, who played Ron Weasley's younger sister and later Harry Potter's wife in the film adaptations, has focused on filmmaking and environmental advocacy since the series concluded in 2011. She has directed films, founded a production company, and published a sustainability guide. Following the birth of her first child, she launched "Hello Earthling," a project aimed at connecting children and families with nature.
Wright and Lococo, a businessman, met in 2018 and married in March 2022. Wright has previously spoken about the challenges and joys of motherhood, reflecting on how it has reshaped her identity and her creative pursuits.
"Parenting is beautiful and brutal in equal measure," she said in a past reflection, detailing the contrast between idealized moments and the practical realities of raising a young child.
