Ariana Grande Debuts Dramatic Short Bob Amidst Career Hiatus
The pop star has traded her signature high ponytail for a chic, chin-length bob as she steps back from the spotlight.
Ariana Grande has unveiled a significant change to her signature look, debuting a short bob haircut. The pop star, known for her towering high ponytails, shared photos of her new, shorter style on Instagram this week.
The change comes shortly after Grande announced she would be taking an extended break from public-facing work. Her hairstylist, Brandon Pietsch, shared the new look, noting, “The ponytail is taking a hiatus.”
This latest hairstyle marks a departure from Grande's well-known preference for lengthy, high ponytails. Previously, she had experimented with dyeing her hair a deep brown after a period of blonde for her role in "Wicked," and had also showcased her natural curls.
Grande's decision to step back from the spotlight was announced in August, following the conclusion of her "Eternal Sunshine" tour on September 1. A representative stated that she would be "stepping back from public-facing work" amid "endless, ongoing scrutiny." During this period, she also withdrew from a planned West End production of "Sundays in the Park with George."
Her new film, "Focker-in-Law," is scheduled for release on November 25.
