Amol Rajan Reflects on 'Wrong Game' After Early Exit from Celebrity Traitors

Amol Rajan, a contestant on Celebrity Traitors, has broken his silence following his early departure from the show, admitting he "played the wrong game." Rajan was the first contestant to be murdered in the series after losing a head-to-head challenge.

The journalist found himself in a critical round-table discussion where he ultimately failed to convince fellow contestants and was eliminated. He later appeared on "The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked," where he reflected on his performance.

"It's hard not to watch it and think I, obviously, with 20/20 hindsight, I played the wrong game," Rajan stated. He confessed he wished he had been chosen as a traitor, believing he could have been effective given his initial experience as a faithful.

"I can say, hand on heart, that if I'd been chosen as a traitor in the first, when Maya [Jama] and Richard [E. Grant] were, if I got the nod or the tap at the roundtable, I think it would have thrown me a bit," he explained. "I'd be like, 'what am I doing? what's going on?' having genuinely spent a day as a faithful, if I'd then been recruited, I think I would have been quite a good traitor because I'd actually known what it was like to be a faithful."

Rajan's elimination means comedian James Acaster will now join Jama and Grant as a traitor. Despite his early exit, Rajan expressed gratitude for the experience, calling it "an absolutely unforgettable ride of a lifetime."

"In time I know that I'll come to look on this as honestly one of the greatest privileges of my life," he added.

The episode's conclusion also drew criticism from viewers, who expressed frustration with a cliffhanger ending that cut off mid-round table discussion, leaving them to wait for the next installment to see the vote results.

Fans took to social media to voice their discontent with the abrupt ending, with many calling it "ridiculous" and lamenting the extended wait for the show's resolution. The dramatic cliffhanger left viewers debating whether Richard E. Grant, who had openly admitted to being a traitor, would be the target of the vote.
